What is a Medical Herbalist?

068

Medical Herbalists are trained professionals who diagnose and treat thousands of patients a year. They use standard diagnostic equipment like blood pressure monitors, thermometers, otoscope/auriscopes and urine dipsticks to diagnose illness. Like GPs, they see a wide range of presentations and refer on to specialist care where necessary and will also often refer patients to their own GPs.

Medical Herbalists usually have their own dispensaries where they make bespoke medicines for their patients. These medicines are often in tincture (alcohol-based liquid extracts) or tea form, but can also be capsules, tablets, syrups, lotions, creams or ointments.
